Rutter Center Remedy

San Francisco, California

The Rutter Center is a signature 4 story conference and recreation center design by Ricardo Legorreta. It includes a fitness complex, indoor and rooftop pools, a conference facility, activity center, pub and student services. It is fully occupied and remained so during construction. The recently constructed project focused on providing remedies for the poor performance of various building systems including HVAC, finishes and waterproofing. The Rutter Center is a prominent architectural feature for the UCSF Mission Bay campus and as such, the remedies for this project work to maintain the architectural integrity of the building while bringing the building performance up to UCSF standards.

The Design Partnership worked closely with West Bay Builders as part of a design-build team to meet the demanding schedule while maintaining minimal impact to the daily operations of the facility.
