Stanford Alpine Road Clinics

Portola Valley, California

At the kick-off meeting to this project, the client challenged The Design Partnership team to rethink how we deliver health care. Important goals were: patient centered care, the inclusion of technology in care delivery, and an inviting environment. As the nexus of patient centered care, every exam room in this project includes space for the patient’s family members, a scale for patient privacy during weighing, a computer station for patient / doctor consultations and even a printer so that patients can immediately receive the information the doctor prints out for them. Great care was taken to integrate all of the technology so that the rooms are inviting, rather than intimidating and cluttered.

Mechanical systems were designed not only to meet the OSHPD 3 requirements of the current project, but also to serve additional buildings on site which will be occupied in the next year. Interior spaces were reworked to meet the needs of patient centered care delivery and includes a tele-medicine conference room and a waiting room that has been re-envisioned as a patient education room. Construction is almost complete.

Project schedule: Less than 6 months for Schematic Design through Construction Completion.
