Sonoma County Juvenile Center
Santa Rosa, California
The juvenile justice center project is nestled between vineyards, a regional park and an upscale retirement community. The three major components that make up this highly visible complex – the juvenile court, the juvenile probation office, and the secure detention facility – are sensitively designed to harmonize with the Sonoma vernacular. The 2-story courthouse includes two courtrooms, while the detention facility houses 140 beds in 20-bed pods, along with educational, healthcare and activity programs.
The project was awarded "Best Institutional Design” by California Construction Magazine.
