A little over one year since breaking ground, the VA Palo Alto Acute Psychiatric Facility held its topping off ceremony. In addition to seismic safety concerns, the new facility will address the growing need of military personnel learning to cope with mental health issues after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Among the many attendees for the topping off ceremony, Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-CA, was on hand as construction crews set the last beam in place.
