San Francisco Juvenile Hall

San Francisco, California

This replacement project for the San Francisco Juvenile Hall is sited on a steep hillside. The site, and the need to relate to existing structures resulted in a creative design solution. The curved shape of the building embraces the topography, and enabled the building to be constructed in a single phase, while the existing facility remained operational. The design includes a new connection between the existing detention building and the Youth Guidance Center, and improvements to overall site security.
